URI GSLIS Receives Grant for Media Smart Libraries

Senator Jack Reed announced the award of a $475,000 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Library and Information Studies. The award, a National Leadership Grant, will support the Media Smart Libraries project lead by Professor Renee Hobbs, director of the Media Education Lab at URI’s Harrington School of Communication and Media. The Office of Library and Information Services and the Providence Children’s Film Festival will partner with URI GSLIS on the project.
