Providence library buildings to be transferred

The Providence Public Library and the City of Providence have reached an agreement that will transfer seven of the former Providence Public Library branch buildings to the City. The buildings will be transferred under a 20 year lease-purchase agreement for a total of $5 million. Currently the buildings are being operated by the Providence Community Library, which provides neighborhood library services for the City of Providence.
