Substance Abuse and Incarceration

The New England Region of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine is hosting an upcoming webinar, Struggles and Strategies Beyond the Walls of Jail about substance use disorder and incarceration.

The presenter is Louie Diaz, former inmate, and current re-entry specialist with the Middlesex County, Massachusetts Sheriff’s Office. He will be sharing his experience and the work he is involved in helping those struggling with substance use disorder during and after incarceration. Mr. Diaz was also the principal subject in the 2016 documentary film “Beyond the Wall.”
