Libraries in the News
By karen | February 4, 2014
Check out this week’s (Feb 3-9) issue of the Providence Business News and see articles about not one, but two library initiatives. Page two features Libraries of Foster Director Kristen Chin and the project to build a new library in Foster. Page four features Karisa Tashjian, Director of the statewide RI Family Literacy Initiative, headquartered at the Providence Public Library; in an interview, Karisa talks about her latest project for supporting adult literacy efforts for those with low educational attainment, low digital literacy skills, low English language literacy, or those with physical disabilities. The project, called ALLAccess, is funded through a $498,000 IMLS grant.
