Adaptive Technology Program
By ann | November 25, 2013
Kathleen Cahill, Assistive Technology Specialist for the MIT Assistive Technology Information Center (ATIC) wrote a touching letter to colleagues about Joe Lazzaro. Joe ran the Adaptive Technology Program at the Mass. Commission for the Blind. Joe recently died. Kathy said, “Joe believed in the power of technology to transform people’s lives and helped to provide those technologies so that blind clients could get what they needed to study or work at a job. Joe was blind from early childhood. Joe majored in Physics and refused to take his Vocational Rehab Counselor’s advice to run state subsidized snack stand at an office building.”
